This is a tamped earth surface with burnt destruction debris above it. As there was quite a bit of LB material, it was initially thought to be a layer of LB age with intrusions from Iron I pits from above. The radiocarbon date indicates that it is a Stratum V surface that seals Stratum VI pits.
